The Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program marks a historic investment in bringing high-speed internet to rural communities. With over $1 billion allocated to Wisconsin, nearly 200,000 locations are set to gain broadband access, including nearly 5,000 right here in Jackson County. To help seize this transformative opportunity, Jackson County established a dedicated broadband committee to explore deployment options and ensure everyone in the community is connected. Backing this initiative, the county has shown its commitment by passing a resolution to support Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services (SwiftCurrent Connect), in partnership with Jackson Electric Cooperative, with $1 million in funding. Together, we're bridging the digital divide and paving the way for a more connected future for Jackson County residents and business owners!
